Meet the Classic Novels subteam
Maia is a junior in Information Science, with minors in Computer Science and History. Through her role as the project lead, Maia was in charge of the creative direction of the project as well as defining its' research questions and scope. She was the lead writer of the project as well as the main editor for the case studies.
Designed and developed the project website. Processed the Google Ngram dataset using Pandas and Matplotlib, and built the interactive visualizations with D3. Ran statistical analysis for main page (clustering algorithm for similar trends, correlation matrix with dendrogram and its related graphs) using sklearn. Authored the Don Quijote case study and co-authored the Crime and Punishment case study.
Manya is a freshman studying Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. She worked on compiling the classics list, as well as individual book data analysis.
Isabella is an Information Science major with a concentration in User Experience and a double minor in Artificial Intelligence. During this project, she explored the popularity of Little Women and built visualizations to give the team insights on what determines a classic or not.
